ZeroTech 3-18×50 Scope Review: Crossover Optic

Last updated on July 6th, 2026

ZeroTech continues to develop their lineup offering a variety of optics including red dots, low power variable optics and long range scopes. These optics are close to home for me, with ZeroTech being an Australian owned company. I have previously reviewed the Trace Advanced 4.5-27×50 earlier in the year and have been impressed with its performance in the price category.

ZeroTech 3-18×50 Buyer Notes

A 3-18×50 scope is a useful crossover format for hunting rifles that may also see longer-range range work. It gives more top-end magnification than a classic hunting scope without becoming as large as a dedicated 5-25x precision optic.

Quick Take

The New 3-18x50mm Scope from ZeroTech is best judged by how it fits the rifle, not just by the spec sheet. Glass quality, reticle design, controls, mounting height and real-world use matter more than chasing one big headline number.

  • Best use case: match the optic to the rifle?s actual job before worrying about brand hype.
  • Check before buying: reticle style, eye relief, turret feel, weight and mounting requirements.
  • Do not forget the mount: good rings and correct height are part of the optic system.

Another great factor about this company is that all ZeroTech scopes do come with a lifetime warranty that is transferable between owners.

Its great to see that the Trace Advanced 3-18×50 has kept a lot of its strengths from the long range model including the glass etched reticle, flip up scope caps and zero stop.

This scope is aimed towards hunting with the inclusion of the long range LR Hunter reticle that includes illumination.

ZeroTech 3-18×50: Ideal Rifle Fit

A 3-18×50 scope is strongest on rifles that need more reach than a classic 3-9x hunting optic but do not need the size and weight of a dedicated 5-25x or 5-30x precision scope. That makes it a sensible format for crossover hunting rifles, varmint rifles and range rifles where field of view, mounting height and total rifle balance still matter. The important question is whether the optic supports the rifle role without making the setup unnecessarily heavy.

FAQ

Is the ZeroTech 3-18x50mm scope worth it?

The ZeroTech 3-18x50mm scope is worth considering if its magnification, reticle, glass quality and adjustment system match how you actually shoot. For rifle setup and shooting style, the biggest question is whether it gives you a clearer aiming solution than the optic you would otherwise buy.

Who is the ZeroTech 3-18x50mm scope best suited to?

It suits shooters who want an optic for rifle setup and shooting style and are willing to choose based on real features rather than brand name alone. Check the reticle, turret layout, weight and warranty before deciding.

What should I compare with the ZeroTech 3-18x50mm scope?

Compare it against optics in the same role and price bracket. Look closely at glass clarity, turret tracking, reticle usability, low-light performance, weight and how easy it is to get support or accessories locally.
