Just released is the new ZeroTech Trace Advanced 5-30x56mm, this PRS inspired scope brings some highly desirable competition features with it. For those unfamiliar, ZeroTech are an Australian based company making optics for all budgets, and best of all they offer a lifetime transferable warranty on all their gear. Although ZeroTech is an Australian company, the Trace Advanced 5-30×56 is made in Japan.
This scope offers a great magnification range of 5-30x, making it a versatile companion for long distance shooting. Combine the magnification range with the impressive reticle options and you get some great strengths for a dynamic shooting scope. The 56mm objective lens helps ensure high light transmission for clear, bright images even in low light conditions.
The new Trace Advanced has a large 34mm maintube and a parallax adjustment from 20 meters to infinity. The eye relief is 3.4″ – 3.8” (87 – 97mm) which provides a comfortable viewing range, while the field of view at 100 meters ranges from 7.4m at low magnification to 1.2m at high magnification. The lenses are coated with Weathershield protection, enhancing performance in bad weather conditions.
Turret adjustments are in 0.1 MRAD increments, offering a total elevation adjustment of 35 MRAD and 30 MRAD for windage. The windage turret is capped and the elevation and parallax turrets are oversized which helps the user make quick adjustments.
Measuring 14.3” (363mm) in length and weighing 39.7oz (1012g), this scope has a solid yet manageable weight, inline with the weight range of its competitors. A zerostop is also included with the optic. The scope comes with two reticle options, and being PRS focused both reticles offer extensive holdover capabilities that assist greatly for dynamic shooting. The reticles on offer are the RMG 2 and TREMOR3. Both reticles are illuminated.
Its great to see my favorite scope covers, the flip up Tenebraex covers come standard with the scope. There is also dual throw lever positions to help make quick magnification changes.
I have been using one of the new ZeroTech Trace Advanced 5-30×56’s with the TREMOR3 reticle on my 6mm Creedmoor target rifle, so stay tuned for a full review in the near future.
