Good news for the long distance MOA users among us, Nightforce have unveiled an MOA version of the widely used MIL-XT reticle. Announced at the 2023 NRA Annual Meeting and Exhibit, the reticle features extensive hashmarks and wind dots for the long range shooter.
Quick Take
The Nightforce MOA-XT Reticle is best judged by how it fits the rifle, not just by the spec sheet. Glass quality, reticle design, controls, mounting height and real-world use matter more than chasing one big headline number.
- Best use case: match the optic to the rifle?s actual job before worrying about brand hype.
- Check before buying: reticle style, eye relief, turret feel, weight and mounting requirements.
- Do not forget the mount: good rings and correct height are part of the optic system.
The MOA-XT™ is designed to meet the needs of today’s shooters and hunters who require fast and accurate holds while using Minutes of Angle.
The floating center dot of the MOA-XT™ provides a fine aiming point for precise shots. The main stadia includes 1 MOA marks with labels every 2 MOA to ensure clear shooting references in hasty or stressful engagements.
The grid consists of an array of horizontal dots that are broken up by a bold dot every 4 MOA for fast counting. Throughout the reticle, reference numbers are alternated in size to provide confidence and speed of engagement at any magnification.
Whether at a competition or on a hunt, shooters who utilize MOA now have a reticle that provides them with the information needed to quickly account for windage and elevation.
