Nightforce Optics have unveiled their latest piece of kit, the Configurable Field Scope 6-36×50. The scope includes first focal plane reticle options such as the MIL-XT, TREMOR4 and MOA-XT. The spotter is designed for ease of use with accessories. This is accomplished with the addition of the Spotting Rail Accessory Platform. This adds the ability to attach night vision and thermal optics forward of the scope.
Quick Take
The Nightforce Configurable Field Scope 6-36×50 is best judged by how it fits the rifle, not just by the spec sheet. Glass quality, reticle design, controls, mounting height and real-world use matter more than chasing one big headline number.
- Best use case: match the optic to the rifle?s actual job before worrying about brand hype.
- Check before buying: reticle style, eye relief, turret feel, weight and mounting requirements.
- Do not forget the mount: good rings and correct height are part of the optic system.

The outer cage also provides mounting for additional gear such as kestrel’s, laser rangefinders, data cards or red dot’s with MLOK and 1/4×20 threads. Underneath the Nightforce Configurable Field Scope there’s plenty of mounting options for tripods including ARCA Swiss, more 1/4×20 threaded slots. Weighing in at 33.7oz/955g and a total length of 14.1”/35cm its fairly compact.

As for optical quality, I will have to wait until I get my hands on one to be sure but with Nightforce’s reputation you can bet the glass wont disappoint.
