Just announced by Weatherby is the new Model 307 bolt action range. This includes the RANGE XP, ALPINE MDT rifles and a standalone builders action. Built around a Remington 700 footprint, the range series feature a fluted bolt, TriggerTech triggers, AICS magazines and a tool less bolt take down.
Model 307 Action Only
Appealing to the custom rifle builders, Weatherby are offering the Model 307 rifle action by itself. The 2 lug bolt features fluting and a sleek graphite black Cerakote.

Model 307 Range XP
The Model 307 Range XP 6.5 Creedmoor variant comes in at a low 7.3 lb / 3.3 kg, making it a lightweight hunting rifle option. The stock’s OD green and adjustable cheek height give it an appealing M40A3 aesthetic. The Range XP will be available in the following calibers: 240 WBY MAG, 243 WIN, 257 WBY MAG, 270 WIN, 280 ACKLEY IMP, 30-06 SPRG, 300 WIN, 308 WIN, 6.5 CREEDMOOR, 6.5 WBY RPM, 7MM REM, 7MM PRC.

Model 307 Alpine MDT
The carbon fiber MDT chassis features a folding stock, length of pull, cheek comb adjustment and AICS magazine compatibility. Both the bolt and barrel are fluted to reduce weight. The 6.5 Creedmoor variant of the Alpine MDT weighs in at a very low 6.8lb / 3kg. The Alpine MDT will be available in the following calibers: 240 WBY MAG, 243 WIN, 257 WBY MAG, 270 WIN, 280 ACKLEY IMP, 300 WBY MAG, 300 WIN, 308 WIN, 6.5 CREEDMOOR, 6.5 WBY RPM, 6.5-300 WBY MAG, 7MM REM, 28 NOSLER, 300PRC, 7MM PRC.

With the inclusion of the Remington 700 pattern action, TriggerTech triggers, AICS magazines, tool less bolt take down, it’s hard to find a better rifle at that price point.
