Warne has introduced the GuideLite, a carbon-fibre bipod aimed at hunters who want to keep pack weight down. There are two models in the new range, with telescoping carbon-fibre legs, a quick-detach Picatinny mounting head and a selectable pan lockout shared across both.
The smaller GuideLite weighs approximately 366 g, while the taller version comes in at around 397 g. That puts just 31 g between the two, although their height ranges are quite different. It is a useful addition to Warne’s bipod line for readers who spend more time carrying their rifle than setting up on a bench.
Two heights, a small weight difference
Warne calls the shorter model the GuideLite 8-14 inch, part number 7941M. Its specification sheet gives an actual adjustment range of 7.3 to 14 inches, or approximately 18.5 to 35.6 cm, at 12.9 oz. The taller 7942M is named the 11-22 inch model, with a listed range of 10.4 to 22.5 inches, approximately 26.4 to 57.2 cm, and a weight of 14 oz.
Those figures give the taller model considerably more extension for a modest increase in weight. The shorter model also has a lower minimum height. The model names are rounded descriptions, so the measured ranges are worth keeping separate when comparing the two.

Carbon legs and a QD mounting head
The GuideLite uses carbon fibre for the telescoping leg sections, with a metal head and black anodised components. Warne lists 7075 aluminium in the product specifications. The combination gives it a familiar bipod layout, with the carbon weave visible along the main leg tubes and rubber feet at the base.
Both versions use a quick-detach Picatinny interface. The published feature list includes 60 degrees of pan and cant, an indexable tension lever and a pan lockout. Warne also lists three leg positions at 0, 45 and 90 degrees. Both heights share the same mounting interface and movement controls.
The legs fold forward alongside the rifle for transport. Warne’s folded product image shows how the two tubes sit together beneath the mounting head, a useful view of the package beyond the usual front-on photograph. Both models are made in the USA.

Where it fits in the Warne range
Readers may remember our Warne Skyline bipod review, which covered the original Precision model on a Sako TRG. The GuideLite gives Warne a more overtly hunting-focused option, with carbon-fibre legs and two height ranges forming the core of this release.
Warne lists US suggested retail prices of US$334.99 for the 7941M and US$389.99 for the 7942M. Those are the manufacturer’s US MSRP figures, rather than Australian retail prices.
Further product details are on Warne’s GuideLite announcement.
