A new Vortex Razor scope has been spotted in the wild. Seen at a recent NRL match in the United States, the unannounced model appears to be a 4-24 magnification scope, something not yet listed on Vortex’s website or officially mentioned by the company.

The photo and comments shared on SnipersHide suggest this scope is still in testing. It looks like a compact design, aimed at rimfire and precision shooters who want high end features in a more practical size. There’s only speculation at this stage but it looks to have capped windage turrets. That’s a big change from Vortex’s long range Razor models, which have exposed turrets all around. Capped windage hints that this scope might be built with competition or practical field shooting in mind, where accidental turret movement is something to avoid.
It could be aimed at competing with the popular Zeiss LRP S3 4-25x. Both seem to fill the same space in the market, being top tier optics with a balance of magnification, weight and field utility. The rumoured Razor 4-24 could be an ideal fit for NRL22, rimfire matches, and even hunting setups where the Gen II or Gen III Razors are overkill due to their weight.
So far, no release date or spec sheet has been shared. But if the forums are right, Vortex is quietly field testing this new Razor before a wider launch. Given the brand’s strong following around the world, it’s likely to attract serious interest once it drops. We’ll keep you updated once we know more!
