250,000 new Next Generation Squad Weapons-Fire Control (NGSW-FC) optics will be delivered by Vortex Optics to the US Army over a ten year period. The optic allows the user to range a target, calculate ballistic data and be provided with a corrected aiming point.
The new optic has some interesting built in features including laser rangefinder, ballistic solver, display overlay, aiming laser and environmental sensors.
The optic is 1-8×30 with a glass etched reticle and is given the designation ‘XM157’.
